What is All Star Cheerleading?[]
All Star Cheerleading is arguably one of the most hard and competitive sports out there. It was invented in the 80s and grew rapidly in popularity in the 90s. It is a performance-based sport with combines Stunting (lifting athletes off the ground), Tumbling (flipping), Jumps and Dancing (not typical dance, sharp and precise movement) to create a 2- 2:30 minute routine for a panel of judges who score them based on technique, execution of a skill and performance.
Numerous teams compete throughout the season to receive invites, also known as bids to The Cheerleading Worlds hosted in Orlando, Florida. This Wiki features countless information on some of the best cheerleading teams and athletes around the world.
Lower Level Cheerleading (Levels 1-4)[]
Lower level cheerleading does not attend The Cheerleading Worlds in Orlando. They attend The Summit instead, hosted by Varsity Spirit. It is much more common to see lower level cheerleading teams, as worlds teams are much more difficult to build and create.
Level 1[]
Level 1 is the lowest level of cheerleading. The only tumbling allowed at this level are cartwheels, rolls, and walkovers. No extended stunts are allowed unless braced. straight ride cradles are allowed from prep height.
Level 2[]
Baskets and extended stunts are permitted without a brace as long as the girl on top (flyer) is standing on two legs. A one leg extended stunt must be braces. Running and standing handsprings are allowed at this level (ex. front handspring, roundoff back handspring).
Level 3[]
Tucks are allowed at this level and so is full twisting in stunts. Tucks are allowed, however only in a running tumbling pass (ex. roundoff, back handspring, back tuck.) Inversions, going upside down in stunts, is now allowed at this level. Twisting baskets and "pretty girl" baskets are also allowed. Extended stunts on one foot are allowed without a brace in this level.
Level 4[]
Layouts are permitted in running tumbling passes (ex. roundoff, back handspring, back tuck, layout.) Standing back tucks are also allowed. Many stunt skills in this level are similar to level 5 and 6, but easier.
Worlds Level Cheerleading (Levels 5-7)[]
Level 5[]
Usually considered a summit level, however international teams can attend The Cheerleading Worlds in the level 5 division (excluding the United States.) Full twisting layouts are introduced at this level and are only in running tumbling passes. Kicking two legs and twisting in baskets is also allowed at this level.
Level 6[]
The most popular worlds level. Anyone from any country can compete in the International level 6 division. Most worlds teams from the United States are found in this level. Standing fulls and back handspring fulls are permitted in level 6. Double full twisting in stunts are common and allowed. Rewinds (back tucks up to a stunt) are a new skill allowed in level 6.
Level 7[]
Introduced in 2021, level 7 is the newest cheerleading level. This level is the only level that permits free flipping in stunts (ex. back tuck baskets.) Level 7 focuses more on technique and any athlete on the team must be 17+. It is more common to see non USA teams in this division. New in 2025, USA teams are able to compete in the Level 7 Non-Tumbling division.Links to Popular Pages[]
